Paden Elementary School is a special, small school with great community spirit and an active Parent Teacher Association (PTA). We welcome new families to our community and hope they will take the time to get to know our school and PTA. We also appreciate returning families, who make our programs and events possible.
Paden PTA is made up of families and teachers working together to create the best possible educational environment for every child at our school. The PTA is a dedicated group of volunteers who spend time in the classroom, organize events and programs, send out communications and raise funds to support a range of programs from field trips and assemblies to classroom and curriculum enhancements.
The PTA exists because decades of research have shown that children do better when their families are involved both at home and at school. Grades are higher. Test scores rise. Self-esteem grows. Schools improve.
Make these outcomes a reality for your child, your school, and your community by being involved in Paden PTA. Please consider coming to a PTA meeting. We meet on the second or third Wednesday of most months (check the calendar for exact dates), at 6:30 pm. Free babysitting is provided for in-person meetings. Join us!
Do have questions or would like something added to the meeting agenda? Email the board at email@example.com.
In order to maintain our non-profit status, it’s important for the PTA to show that it has an active membership. One way we do that is by recording the number of volunteer hours donated to the PTA. Please be sure to record your time spent working on PTA programs or business on the form linked below. Thank you!
Each year Paden PTA raises funds to support a variety of educational and community-building activities.
For the 2018-2019 school year, we raised just over $61,000!
We were able to support the following programs with these funds!
*Other income sources include passive fundraising (such as Amazon Smile and Box Tops), interest, Alameda Theater Movies Sales, etc.
**Other expense categories include 5th-grade promotion expenses, Field Day, Health Office expenses, First Day Coffee and Doughnuts, Ice Cream Social, Multicultural Night, Learning Center Grant, Principal Staff Appreciation expenses, recess equipment, School Smarts support, and snacks for kids during standardized tests.
***Administration costs include third-party merchant fees (PayPal, Stripe), Copying and Printing (including check printing), Insurance, Postage, and PTA accounting software annual renewal license.
**** Categories that break-even (ie income is roughly equal to expenses) were not included in the charts above - Book Fair and Paden Wear. The media center receives book and supply credit from Scholastic and Follett based on sales. We continue to offer Paden Wear at close to cost for community building and school spirit!
